UV-C Light radiates directly to all objects and surfaces and directly reaches darkened areas through reflection
Disinfection by reflection depends on the material's own reflectivity, irradiation time and light power.
A UV-C light disinfection device for environments and surfaces must meet the following conditions:
The doses delivered must exceed 1000 Ws/m2 for the inactivation of all pathogens in the environment of interest.
The device must deliver the lethal dose so that all points in the environment are irradiated equally.
The setup should be as isolated as possible from humans and animals. It must have an alert or stop system in the presence of humans to avoid injuries due to exposure.
The device must minimize shadowed areas and horizontal angular incidence areas.
Those responsible for carrying out disinfection with a device must, at all times, be protected with personal protective equipment (PPE) suitable for exposure to UV radiation (industrial).
The device must be tested and studied empirically before being implemented for disinfection so that its irradiation variation is known with certainty.
